This bathroom belonged to an elderly lady who could no longer get in and out of the bath safely. We took the bath out and put in a walk-in shower she can step straight into, clad the walls in easy-clean marble-effect panels, and fitted a comfort toilet with a heated seat and a wash-and-dry function.
The customer was an elderly lady who had reached the point where getting in and out of the bath was difficult and no longer safe. She wanted to keep washing comfortably and independently in her own home, so the job was to replace the bath with a walk-in shower she could use easily, and to make the room low maintenance and comfortable to live with day to day.

Converting a bath to a walk-in shower is more than swapping one for the other. The layout, the plumbing and the floor all change, and the access has to be low and safe so there is no high step to climb over. We took the floor up to reroute the waste and pipework for the new shower position and to make the floor sound. We also wanted a finish that was easy to keep clean, which is why the walls went in panelled rather than tiled. Just as importantly, it had to feel like a proper, warm bathroom, not a clinical one.

We took out the old bath and suite, stripped the walls back and lifted the floor so we could get at the pipework and set the room up for its new layout.
We rerouted the waste and pipework to suit the new walk-in shower position and made the floor sound and ready for the new finish.
We fitted a walk-in shower with a low-access tray and a glass screen, along with a chrome rainfall and handset shower, so she can step straight in with no high step to manage.
We clad the shower and walls in marble-effect Multipanel shower wall panels. They are grout-free, fully waterproof and wipe clean in seconds, so there is no grout to scrub and the room stays easy to look after.
We fitted a comfort toilet with a heated seat and an integrated wash-and-dry function, along with the basin, vanity and heated towel rail, and laid the new floor to finish the room.

The bath is gone, and in its place is a walk-in shower she can step straight into, with marble-effect panels that look smart and wipe clean, and a comfort toilet that adds a little dignity and independence to everyday life. It is a warm, proper bathroom, just one she can actually use safely on her own.
The room has a walk-in shower with a low-access tray and a glass screen, fed by a chrome rainfall and handset shower. The walls are clad in marble-effect Multipanel shower wall panels, which are grout-free and easy to clean. The suite includes a comfort toilet with a heated seat and an integrated wash-and-dry function, a compact vanity and basin, and a chrome heated towel rail, finished with grey floor tiles.
