The client approached us with a vision to transform two outdated rooms into one stunning, modern family bathroom. They wanted the space to feel both luxurious and practical, with a strong focus on maximising functionality. The project involved removing dividing walls and an old airing cupboard to open up the area, before redesigning it from the ground up. Their wish list included a freestanding bath, a spacious shower enclosure, and carefully integrated lighting and electrics to create a sleek, contemporary finish. Storage and clean lines were also a priority, ensuring the new bathroom would be as efficient as it was beautiful.
This was not a straightforward refurbishment, it required a complete reconfiguration of the space. With walls being removed and stud walls built to conceal pipework, the shower valve, and a pocket door, every detail had to be meticulously planned. The existing layout could not support the new features without major updates, including a new soil stack, revised waste management, and upgraded electrical systems. Balancing the practical demands of plumbing and wiring with the client's desire for a minimalist, clutter-free look was a challenge we embraced. Our aim was to deliver a bathroom that looked effortless, while concealing the complexity of the work behind the walls.
The transformation began with a complete strip-out of the existing rooms. Old walls and the airing cupboard were carefully removed to open up the footprint. Two stud walls were then constructed, one to house the concealed shower valve, bath tap, and pipework, and another to create a neat pocket door system and a recessed niche for added storage and style.
New wiring was installed throughout to meet the demands of a modern bathroom. Spotlights were fitted for even illumination, an extractor fan for ventilation, a toothbrush charging point for convenience, and a dual towel rail to provide both warmth and practicality.
Once the structure was in place, the room was fully plastered, creating smooth, durable surfaces ready for the next stage of installation.
The shower zone was lined with full-height shower boards to ensure a watertight, easy-to-maintain surface. For visual consistency, the rest of the room was finished with half-height boarding, giving a stylish, balanced effect that also offered extra durability.
A new soil stack was fitted and waste pipes were repositioned to accommodate the new layout. This allowed for the installation of a freestanding bath, a concealed cistern for the toilet, and a wall-hung vanity unit without compromising performance or reliability.
Once the services were in place, the new suite was installed. This included a spacious shower enclosure, a freestanding bath as the centrepiece, a modern basin with vanity units, and a concealed cistern with a back-to-wall toilet. Wall cabinets were added above to provide streamlined storage, keeping the room clutter-free.
The project concluded with a full redecoration, giving the bathroom a fresh, cohesive finish. Every detail, from the lighting to the concealed features, came together to create a calm, functional, and luxurious environment.
In just four weeks, the two old rooms were completely transformed into a single luxury bathroom that is both practical for everyday family use and indulgent in style. The clean lines, concealed systems, and carefully chosen finishes ensure the space feels uncluttered and elegant, while the thoughtful layout maximises every inch of the room. The result is a bathroom that delivers long-lasting comfort, convenience, and a high-end finish the family can enjoy for years to come.

This bathroom was finished with high-quality fittings and materials designed to blend style with practicality. A freestanding bath provided the centrepiece of the room, complemented by a concealed shower valve and bath tap neatly hidden within the stud wall. The installation also included a dual heated towel rail, modern vanity units with integrated basin, and a back-to-wall toilet with concealed cistern, paired with sleek wall cabinets for added storage. Full-height shower boards in the wet zone and half-height panelling throughout the rest of the room completed the look with durability and style.
